Re: Introduce yourself please
Welcome Tony, it looks like your 280 is in great condition, at least at the front end.

Re: Introduce yourself please
Hi all. Been lurking for a while and have devoured a lot of the incredible build threads and the remarkable information database. Thank you to the administrators for such an incredible site.
Proud owner of a '91 W463 300GD SWB. Imported it to Australia last year from the UK and have a few plans for it's future per below. Bit of a long story but I originally bought a '88 W460 300GD SWB but just as I was about to ship it to Australia, the '91 W463 came up and I bought them both. Have since sold the '88 W460 and now embarking on a few mods to the W463.
Planning on swapping out the OM603NA and have already bought a OM603A (with a #22 head) which I will post in the Technical thread as I get closer to doing all the upgrades (water pump, fan, fan clutch, etc) on the OM603A and find someone in Australia who actually want to do the engine swap work. The other big task will be installing air con, which I am obviously holding off on, until the OM603A swap is done. With a bit more around town poke and air con, this will become my daily driver.
Was lucky enough to find some 16" Ashtaroth's which went on the G shortly after I got it.

A very good eye John! That's the '88 W460 300GD that I also imported and sold a few months ago. Immaculate condition and it was quite the toss up on which one to keep!
I wonder if any of the UK based forum members know of the W463 I bought ('91 300GD with about 175k miles)? Apparently the prior owner was quite involved in the UK G Wagon Community.
Below are some pics before it was shipped over to me.

Re: Introduce yourself please
I know it well…pretty sure that was a guy called Bob Frendt not far from me in Knaresborough in gods own country of Yorkshire
He’s replaced it with another of the same model in Red!
I supplied the refurbished wheels that were on it :0)
Any idea on U.K. reg of the 460 out of interest?

Thank you very much Gav, and you are spot on! I only discovered it had a respray when it landed over here. Originally white as you noted!
The W460 UK reg was E250 GRY
